Camps will be offered two locations: Learning Express event room in Alpharetta our 10th year partnering with Learning Express! A colorful and spacious event room we enjoy teaching camps here. Close to Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Roswell, Cumming just hop off the interstate near North Point Mall.
OOTB mini farm studio in Milton area close to Milton, Alpharetta, Woodstock, Ball Ground, Cumming, Roswell, we have folks from all over for these great camps where you learn about great artists as well as meet the animals and fun farm events. We create both inside and outside studios ( weather permitting) Campers meet a different farm animal each day during snack time in the picnic area.
NEW addition this year is partnering with Classic Colors Horse farm right next to OOTB’s mini farm for a Horse AND Art camp opportunity.
Both locations have an art exhibit at the end of the week for families and friends!
Many mediums as always used in our camps: clay, felting, painting in acrylic, watercolor, tempera, potter’s wheel, clay hand building, wood, printmaking, recycled art, pastels both chalk and oil, liquid watercolors, salt, unusual tools not just a brush here!
Camps are listed by age. OOTB starts at age 4 and goes to teens. We separate many camps by age if it includes more than one age.
Camps times are: Am: 9:30-12:30 and PM: 1:30-4:30
Your camper may stay all day and no charge for lunchtime of course just bring their lunch!

May 28th-31st(4 day camp) Learning Express location Alpharetta:
PM: “ Flip flop til you drop….. Beach art” elementary ages. Clay sandcastle piece, warm and cool colors collage, mixed media lighthouse, Fabric canvas, textured flip flops in the sand and more, $115 for 4 days
June 3-7th: Learning Express Alpharetta: Pop Art/ Modern and Surrealism: (based on artists this summer being in exhibit at the High Museum of art!)

June 10th-15th:” Meet the Impressionist” ( over ½ full)
Am( ages 4-6) and pm( ELEMENTARY) camps
This is always full and fun! Create in clay, foil, collage ,canvas, pastels and mixed medias as well while creating in Van Gogh, Degas, Cezanne ,Manet( not Monet!), And Gauguin style. $140.00
June 17th: Animals, animals, art and animals: NEW projects .Learning Express Alpharetta each day will be a different topic such as Animals around the world, under the sea animals, exotic animals, farm animals and more. Think SLOTH of course! We will create on wood, canvas, pastels, clay pinch pot animals, Laurel Burch animal collage.$140.00

June 24th: Craft/ makers camp: (THIS camp has 3 openings only) this camp will use amazing tools, new and recycled elements to create wonderful art for all ages.( wood peg doll family / or other topic)crushed can Van Gogh painting and frame, yarn wrapped name for room and “ paper” bowls and more Alpharetta Learning Express location $140.00

July 8th-13th: “ Fairy Garden camps”
New this year we are making TWO camps by age group and different camp projects!
9:30-12:30” Mermaid fairy camp and more” ages 5-8. Ms. Marty and Ms. Karen will help you create an under the sea fairy garden. Each camper chooses their own special fairy container which will all be different followed by making handmade fairies and more pieces to their garden. Added projects will be glazing a colorful ceramic Fairy as well as creating a terracotta gnome house and gnome. This camp always fills up so do not delay. $150.00
1:30-4:30: “ Artist fairy Garden … Monet inspired” inspired by Monet’s garden Ms Christine will help campers ages 8 and up to make many of the pieces including a mini canvas and easel painting, frog, lily pads, fairy house and fairies and more. Added projects as well. Picture coming !!!Adults love fairy gardens too ! 150.00
Milton Mini Farm Camps:
At the Mini Farm Studio: Picnic Snack Area. We create inside the studio and outside when weather is great too.
NEW…two Camps June 3rd week and /or July 15th week:: “ Horse camp and Art camp combo” partnered with Classic Colors horse farm next door you will experience 9:00-12:00 Horse camp followed by art camp( 12:00-2:00) related to all horses. As well as a visit with our animals at the mini farm
Horse Camp 9am-12pm/ art Camp 12-2 total is 9:00-2:00 day week-long camp
The kids groom and tack up their horses each day before they ride as well as horsemanship activities in the barn with the horses. Riders will learn how to be safe around the horses at all times while having fun and caring for the horses. Campers bring lunch and plenty to drink. We have a refrigerator to keep things cold. Riders need to wear long pants to ride in and may bring shorts to change into after the riding lesson. We have extra helmets and boots but if you have your own please bring them each day! The boots need to have a smooth bottom with a small heel. A properly fitting bicycle helmet is acceptable too. Riding lessons will be held in the ring each day and on Friday we will go out on a short trail ride and ride bareback in the ring afterward! Riders will receive a camp T-shirt at the end of the week and parents are welcome to come watch any day, just ask what time your child will be riding!
The Art Camp part :: We are so excited to create in clay, painting, drawing, mixed media collage, wooden door hangers and more all related to each campers personal horse or one they love at camp this week. Each project will look different .Art exhibit at the end of the camp!

June 10th-14th”1:30-4:30 “Potter’s wheel and mud works camp” one time only
Group will be divided (elementary ages 7 and up to young teens)We will create “ around the world” Come create wonderful projects on the potter’s wheel as Ms. Jewel teaches you clay, glazes, and working on the wheel to create wheel-thrown projects. Campers will also use texture tools, trimming, design tools to add to their pieces as well as create a ceramic with slip and mold as well as a hand built piece with Ms. Juli. Campers will show parents what they have learned at the art exhibit the end of the week. Ms. Jewel always has a great last day party! Campers will visit the animals at OOTB during break. $150
June 17th-21: : How Great thou art … animals in the Bible: under the sea. New animals we explore and create using many tools and textures for all ages we will divide this group. Elementary/ tweens/ teens. FULL Always filled up quick! 1:30-4:30 art exhibit the last day (FULL)
June 24th-28th: “ Van Goat and more farm friends art” all ages love animals… we will create inspired by artists that loved animals too… we will visit animals each day ….feed, collect eggs, and more farm fun while creating in clay, collage, mixed media, wood, canvas, felting and more. Why DO roosters crow? Which chicken is named “ Andy Warhol” and why? Why do pigs “ blow their coat”? Do goats really eat everything? Which ducks make the most noise? Why is does “ bear” the dog have so much hair? New projects. Will divide the group. Elementary / tweens.

July 8th-12th: “Pet lovers art camp” NEW projects….
This was a huge hit last year! Whether you have hamsters, dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, goats, reptiles, or more we have a camp for you. We will focus on artists that loved animals too while we created personal projects based on the campers animals! At the end of art camp, we will have a PET SHOW and ART exhibit with everyone!!! We will create clay 3 D animals, paint bowls or snack containers for their animal, create a “ coke can” frame and animal, Mondrian drawing as well as a very fun folk art inspired funny canvas of the campers animal(s) doing crazy anima things. We will make an animal snack bag to go home at the exhibit as well. Even animal “ awards” for every animal! Special surprises planned as well. This WILL fill up fast so register now!140.00
July 22nd-26th: “Folk art fun on the mini farm” New projects of course… come join us as we are inspired by local and “famous” folk artists as well. Clay, wood, mixed media and We are honored to have Cathy Dobson from “ Lady D farm” teach our campers all about the loom on Tuesday. Campers will make a handmade loom and create a loom piece as well. We will be inspired by artist Romare Bearden and Faith Ringgold as we mixed media pieces. Yarn painting, felting, a wood “ folk art man” and more. This is always a popular camp for all ages ~ guys and gals! We will also be inspired as many folk artists were meeting our animals during break times. Art exhibit Friday $140.00
